runway to my way: edge fraying

Instead of being super polished, sometimes we need to loosen up and let frayed edges speak itself. The street wear denim distressed trend has made its way to all kinds of fabrics. You will notice this technique has gradually been inputted into various fabrics on the SS15 runway. I experimented it on myself to see how frayed edges can be worn and styled in a way that it doesn’t fray you down. The minimal combination of frayed jacket with slim knit pencil skirt puts a good contrast balance.

Styling Tips: Noticed this outfit is mostly in dark colors? I would add pops of primary colors to brighten up the overall look. Go for earrings and shoes to keep it sleek and minimal, but also remember to tie your hair up to avoid looking clumsy.
