Overalls is one of my teenage years must wear items, I had it in all sorts of colours to mix and match with. It has definatly made a huge come back as a “trendy item”, but the question is ” how to wear overalls and still look like a grow up?”. It’s either a hit or a miss and takes some kind of courage to pull of this look when you are in you mid 20s or above. This time I have picked Tommy Jeans 90’s nostalgic classics with a fresh and youthful energy overalls to demonstrate #howtostyle. Here comes my styling tips, I advise you 3 key points to watch out and avoid the miss category.
- Accessories with adult accessories, such a brim hats, heels or fine jewellery. Try to avoid pigtails, braids or backpacks, this will make you look like you are trying to hard to be young. Unless your look is super duper street style/ hiphop inspired.
- Cuff the legs on the overalls, especially if you are petite size like me. This will elongate you body and create an effortless chic look. I would suggest a pair of heels will be even better, remember to show off your ankles !
- Give your overalls a bit of attitude with a pop of statement lips and adjust asymmetrical straps. This will add extra femininity and sexiness to a pair of denim overalls.
