I am a huge fan of Chanel’s nail polish and of course all their designs. A quick reality check, how the heck would I be able to buy loads of Chanel? The answer is…. not at this moment ( but doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future:P). I constantly have this Chanel crave in my head and the best way to satisfy it, is from their makeup collections. I was honored to be invited by Chanel and try out their autumn 2012 makeup collection” Les Essentiels De Chanel” along with a private styling session.
In this new collection, Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel makeup, gives a twist to the iconic house codes with new intensity to your faces and eyes. The star of the collection is the OMBRE ESSENTIELLE. The monochrome eye shadows, provides intensity and strength to its colors. The new OMBRE ESSENTIELLE formula contains 2 technologies which optimize the effects of shades. The eye shadow color schemes for the collection are mainly soft peach, sheer gold, romantic grey, silver blues and black.
The nail color of the collection includes dainty lilac, black and intensive pink. VERTIGO, the black lacquer, contains a heart of red pearly particles that appears when light reflects.

My eyes are fairly small, that’s why I hardly wear any eye shadow. I tend to make a mess around my eyes and end up with dark panda eyes. I was going to give it another try and hopefully learn some tricks from Chanel’s professional makeup artist. As the makeup artist applied layers of colors, I noticed a gradation of intense matte to creamy softness effect on my eyelids.
I did a mini photo shoot with Kary Kwok, fashion stylist and art director.
After the Little Black Jacket exhibition, I was so eager to try one for myself! Seriously… I felt like a Chanel girl with Chanel’s make up, clothes and accessories.
Thank you Chanel for making me feel inspired with confidence!
